setLinkTrackingTimer

The setLinkTrackingTimer() method sets time delay for loading a page after a link is clicked. The delay gives tracker time to send any download or outlink requests before the page will be changed. The default delay is 500 milliseconds.

Syntax

setLinkTrackingTimer(milliseconds)
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(time): void

Parameters

milliseconds (number, required)

The delay time in milliseconds.

Examples

To set the delay to 250 milliseconds:

_paq.push(["setLinkTrackingTimer", 250]);
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void
setLinkTrackingTimer(250): void

Notes

  • Requests sent using a beacon method don't lock the page.
  • Contrary to what the function name suggests, setLinkTrackingTimer affects all other types of events. In recent versions of JavaScript Tracking Client, links are sent using beacon method if available.
